Scott Robertson graduated with honors with a B.S. degree in Transportation Design in April 1990. He immediately opened a consulting firm in San Francisco, where he designed a variety of consumer products, the majority being durable medical goods and sporting goods. He began teaching at Art Center College of Design in 1995, first with a year-and-a-half stint at Art Center Europe in Vevey, Switzerland (now closed), and then in Pasadena, California. Robertson created the entertainment design major at Art Center, and served as chair of the department for 3 years. He founded the publishing company Design Studio Press in 2002. As a way to further design, drawing and rendering education, Design Studio Press teamed with The Gnomon Workshop to create a library of “how to” DVDs. Robertson himself instructed on nine DVDs, focusing on drawing and rendering techniques for industrial and entertainment designers. He co-produced an additional 41 DVDs with various top artists, designers, and instructors, including Syd Mead.
