Eric Peterson grew up playing classical guitar, piano, and trumpet, singing in choirs and school musicals. His voice broke, he grew angsty, and he turned to electric guitar, practicing for countless hours before moving from the bedroom into the garage, finding bandmates and plotting world domination. "I was only 16! I couldn't get into the bars and clubs my bands gigged at without my parents there... But I was hooked..."

Relocating to Austin, TX to pursue music (as well as a degree in Electrical Engineering), Eric played guitar and recorded with numerous local indie & rock projects. "I loved playing the guitar, and every time I went into the studio, I was fascinated with the process. However, I didn't yet fully appreciate what the guy on the other side of the glass was doing, how much influence he had over how my music sounded... " Starting to explore the tools of production, Eric took to writing and arranging on his Tascam 4-track and MIDI sequencer, producing song demos and synth music.

Finishing his degree in EE, Eric took a job with one of the many budding technology startups in Austin, and disengaged from the thriving live music scene. "My tastes shifted as I discovered electronic music. I took a break from the guitar and took up DJing and started focusing on dance music. This was the late-90s, right about the time you could start to record audio on a home computer." With the advent of true audio capabilities on home computers, the power of a home studio multiplied a hundredfold. "All of the sudden, it all clicked: my musical training, my technical studies, my ear as a dj... As soon as I started being able to push around audio on my PC at home, I started to understand the process of making a record. I knew it's what I was meant to do. I quit my lucrative tech job, enrolled at Berklee, and started working in studios making records."

Moving to Boston, MA for Berklee College of Music's prestigious Production & Engineering program, Eric completed his BA in a record time. Dedicating several years to in-depth study of music theory and arrangement by day, and honing studio chops in the school's SSL rooms at night gave Eric the tools necessary to move right into the industry. "I was a staff engineer at one local studio (Wellspring Sound) before I graduated Berklee, and assisting, freelancing and producing at another (Bluejay Recording). I went right from making student ensemble recordings to working on band records. And it hasn't stopped since."

After several years of working in Boston studios, Eric made the jump to Los Angeles, "Still the Mecca of recorded music." He landed a coveted staff job at Record Plant studios, and quickly moved into the seat of staff engineer. "Record Plant was an exciting and challenging place to work. The top names in the music business would come through the door, and look to you to make them sound their best." After engineering sessions for Chris Brown, Snoop Dogg, Brandy, NeYo, Macy Gray and countless others, Eric took a job engineering for Grammy-winning rock producer Paul Ebersold, and recorded projects for Green River Ordinance, The Dares, and Leslie.

Despite the star-power of his roster of clients, Eric knew that engineering was just a means to an end. He currently produces and mixes new artists full time. "I have 100% percent confidence I can make any client sound amazing in any genre; I've done it for clients at the highest level. It's time to focus on crafting the music & sound of the next great act."
