Job Description
Design Works Studios has an immediate opening for a full time Motion Graphics Artist to join our development team in a casual high energy environment. The ideal candidate will develop animated art assets for Technical/Implementation Artist based on the Design Works Standards and Required Specifications. This position will work closely with the 2D Art Department to create stunning visual graphics and game play elements. The selected individual must be comfortable working alone, as well as in a team environment depending on the project at hand. Strong attention to detail and excellent organization is mandatory.

Duties & Responsibilities
Work closely with the Art Director and department leads to bring life to game play and cinematics through the addition of flair and visual drama.
Craft compelling moments through the design, creation and implementation of real-time particle effects using both static and animating 2D/3D elements.
Prototype effects which effectively develop tone and pacing of game play events.
Ability to stay current with the latest tools, technologies, and techniques to help shape our pipelines.
Follow and maintain pipelines and technical requirements.
Interact daily with all artists to provide/solicit feedback
Participates in the brainstorming sessions for new game ideas and suggest artistic styles based on the themes and symbol ideas of the game.
Interacts weekly with Math Director to understand the game functionality.
In constant communication with pre and post production teams.
Participates in creative meetings; Game Themes, Games titles and general functionality of games

Experience
2 years of Visual Effects experience for Game, Film or TV/Commercial production.
Bachelor's degree or diploma with an emphasis on Art.
Ability to work collaboratively and succeed in a diverse work environment.
Self motivated team player who proactively seeks feedback and communication.
Must possess a critical eye for the timing, animation, and motion of real world objects/visual FX.
Knowledge of visual effect terminology and techniques used in film, games, animation.
