I was born in 1983 and grew up on a farm in Golden Bay at the top
of the South Island of New Zealand. I was encouraged by my family and environment
to explore all forms of art from a young age. When I finished school
I was introduced to local bone carver, Chris Bone, and I ended up
spending a year in his workshop learning how to handcraft jewellery.
From there I started my own jewellery business, which I currently
run from my workshop at Nautilus Creative Space in Wellington.
I create pieces out of recycled woods such as ebony piano keys and
lignum vitae from old lawn bowls balls, combined with paua and silver.
My designs are strongly influenced by scenes from nature including
plants, animals, mountains & star constellations. Lately I
have incorporated alot of symbolism into my work using crop circle designs and sacred geometry. All my designs are handcut, carved & polished, making each one a unique work of art.
