My design inspirations were the architectural elements and their placement on the site in relation to the view of the lake. I chose triangular elements strategically placed in a zig zagging pattern, because they resembled the shape of a sail. These forms created spaces of repose before reaching the final destination of the boat house. I repeated the triangular shape throughout the site in recessed and extruded forms. The placement of natural elements block the view of the lake until the last space of repose when the lake view appears as one crosses over a recessed form and climbs up into the extruded form of the boat house.
