Jerry Blank’s current themes are historical in nature “The Art of Music”
and “Sports Legends”, “Entertainment Giants”. Addtional themes
include cityscapes, figurative studies, and portraits.

”The Art of Music” captures the movement and sounds of the vibrating beats
and rhythms of America and its music greats throughout the decades of jazz, rock and
country music. Vibrant colors and bold strokes dominate Jerry’s canvases. Each work of
art pays a symbolic and historical tribute to the immortal musical giants like Miles Davis,
John Coltrane, Billie Holiday, and the Rat Pack— Frank Sinatra, Dean Martin and
Sammy Davis, Jr., Jimi Hendrix, Jim Morrison, The Beatles, Stevie Ray Vaughn, Johnny
Cash, Santana, Jerry Garcia, Janis Joplin, Elvis and John Stewart of Kingston Trio. These
highly sought after and collected paintings captures the character and musical soul of
each artist. Jerry’s raison d’être is to provoke and inspire the viewers’ visual memory
of these great artists and their music and peak the curiosity of a younger generation
with these grand salutes to these great musicians and entertainers.

“Sports Legends” is a new series of paintings paying tribute to great sports figures—
Mohammad Ali, Jackie Robinson, Derek Jeter, Sandy Koufax, Walter Payton,
Kobe Bryant, Wilt Chamberlain, Richard Petty, Jeff Gordon, Jimmy Johnson and more.

In addition, Blank has painted a collection of over thirty Las Vegas paintings—
“Impressions of Vegas” which captures the excitement, pulse and legacy of this
vibrant city. As Vegas changes and evolves over the decades, the paintings have a
historical quality, in addition to their timeless and moving beauty. A natural extension
to the Las Vegas theme is a triptych which celebrates the fabulous production shows—
Lido, Follies Bergere and Jubilee. “Showgirls of Las Vegas” are works in progress.

Blank’s collections of landscape and cityscapes paintings are reminiscences of his world
travels. These highly sought after and collected paintings capture the character, mood
and beauty of these European places. Many of the initial sketches, photos, and paintings
are captured on location while enjoying a brick of cheese, a loaf of French bread, and a
bottle of wine. Blank’s watercolors, acrylics and oils are in prestigious private and public
collections throughout North America and Europe.

His formidable artistic education and art career spans over forty years, having studied art
and design at San Jose State University. He went on to receive his BS degree in Industrial
Design from SJSU. His art finds inspiration in the French Impressionist movement and a
recent year long sabbatical in Paris which prolifically yielded over fifty paintings of old
world and European inspirations. Jerry Blank’s works has been in galleries in New York,
West Palm Beach, Hilton Head, Houston, Nantucket, San Jose, Las Vegas and many
cruise ships on the seven seas.
